Iranian Day at the Bologna Childrens Book Fair

On the sidelines of the 54th round of International Bologna Childrens Book Fair, the "Iranian Islamic Republic Day" was held with the presence and speech of Akbar Ghowli, the Iranian cultural attaché in Italy.

According to the Public Relations of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, on the sidelines of the 54th round of International Bologna Childrens Book Fair which was held during 3-6 April, the "Iranian Islamic Republic Day" was held with the presence of Akbar Ghowli, the Iranian cultural attaché in Italy, Reza Noee, the international vice president of Institute of Iranian International Exhibition, Mrs. Vakil Naslain, the head of Irans pavilion at the Book Fair, Mrs. Filippini, the professor of Persian Language and Literature at the University of Viterbo, and Mrs. Asgari, the professor of Italian Language and Literature at Tehran University.

In the ceremony, Akbar Ghowli, the Iranian cultural attaché in Italy, in his speech pointed out to the importance of the International Bologna Childrens Book Fair and sufficient accuracy to provide desired cultural materials for children.    

He continued: "The establishment of this Book Fair is an opportunity to save the beautiful image of the world before our children. The importance of this issue is so that the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Italy has dedicated a part of its activities to this area that for an example of such activities we can refer to the holding of workshops of Iranology for more than 450 Italian students and Shahnameh reading".

Akbar Ghowli added: "The cooperation between Iran and Italy in this highly important area is rooted in the history of comprehensive and very old relations between the two rich cultures and civilizations of Iran and Italy for centuries that the holding of the Islamic Republic of Iran Day in the International Bologna Childrens Book Fair and the presence of Italy as the special guest of honor at the 30th Tehran International Book Fair are only recent examples of it".

Rossana Rummo, the Director General of Italys libraries and cultural institutions of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, in her speech appreciated the opportunity to be present as the special guest of honor at the 30th Tehran International Book Fair.

She continued: "This presence is a valuable opportunity to review the history of cultural relations between the two countries and develop mutual understanding. Italy has selected the title of Timeless Beauty for its presence as the special guest of honor at the 30th Tehran International Book Fair that itself comprises the concepts of beauty of being together and appreciating this timeless beauty".

In her speech, Rossana Rummo emphasized: "The presence of Italy as the special guest of honor at the 30th Tehran International Book Fair will be an opportunity for a great cultural dialogue and signing a cultural cooperation agreement between the two countries".

Following the ceremony, two Italian illustrators of childrens books, who attended the meeting of Italian illustrators of childrens books held in Tehran on the last January, talked about their experiences and observations from their visit to Iran and the meeting.
