The President of the University of Religions and Denominations in Ghana:

Dialogue with Important Religious Centers in the World Is One of the Priorities

Emphasizing on academic cooperation, Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Abul Hasan Navvab in a meeting with the Iranian cultural attaché in Ghana stated: "Dialogue with important religious centers in the world is one of the priorities".

According to the Public Relations of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, visiting the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ghana, Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Abul Hasan Navvab, the President of the University of Religions and Denominations and the Secretary of the High Council of the World Forum for Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT), Hujjat al-Islam Asadi, the Director General of Al-Mustafa International University in South Africa, and Maarefi, the President of the Islamic University in Ghana, met with Mohammad Hassan Ipakchi, the Iranian cultural attaché in Ghana.

In this meeting, Ipakchi provided a report about the activities of the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ghana and the first successful academic meeting of interfaith dialogue at the Legon University (Accra-Ghana) on the last March, which was run by the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran and with the contribution of the International Center for Interfaith Dialogue of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, as one of the useful and effective programs of cultural and religious relations conducted recently between Iran and Ghana.

Then he stated that given the effectiveness of the meeting in the academic atmosphere of Ghana and the expression of interest of the professors in the Department of Religious Studies at the Legon University (Accra-Ghana) while they were visiting the University of Religions and Denominations in Qom and for more familiarity with academic activities at this University, Ghana University is interested in and serious about holding the second round of interfaith dialogue in this country.

Then the Iranian cultural attaché talked about the issues raised on the sidelines of the academic meeting of interfaith dialogue between the two countries and the signing of cooperation agreement between the Legon University (Accra-Ghana) and the University of Religions and Denominations, Iran.

Following the meeting, appreciating the academic meeting of interfaith dialogue between Iran and Ghana, Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Abul Hasan Navvab referred to the point that it very important that interfaith dialogue centers in the Islamic Republic of Iran pay more attention to operationalize interfaith dialogue in different parts of the world and stated that not only attention to the Vatican and other important religious centers in the world is of great importance, but also concentration on the African continent, especially Ghana, given a high intellectual level and the cultural atmosphere of this country, is very important.

Then referring to the importance of continued academic meetings of interfaith dialogue in Ghana as one of the indispensable cultural programs this year at the University of Religions and Denominations, Hujjat al-Islam Navvab gave a copy of cooperation agreement to the Iranian cultural attaché to be signed by the Ghanaian side.

Following itineraries in Ghana, the Secretary of the High Council of the World Forum for Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) and the accompanying delegation met with Maleki, Iranian ambassador to Ghana. Other itineraries included visiting the different parts of the Islamic University in Ghana, meeting with Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, the Chief Imam of Ghana, visiting Ahl al-Bayt Seminary in Accra, meeting with Sheikh Kamaloddin, Imam of the Shiites of Ghana, meeting with Maleki, the director of Irans Health Center, meeting with the Ghanaian Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, as well as meeting with the Ghanaian Minister of Higher Education.
