The cultural month of the Islamic Republic of Iran entitled "Iranian Art and Culture Exhibition from the Silk Road" was opened in East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai.
According to the Public Relations of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the opening ceremony of cultural month of the Islamic Republic of Iran entitled "Iranian Art and Culture Exhibition from the Silk Road" was opened on Monday, April 17 in the exhibition hall of the library of the East China Normal University with the contribution of the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Shanghai and in cooperation with the president of the East China Normal University (ECNU) and the director of the library of this University and with the presence of a group of academic figures and cultural authorities of both countries.
In this ceremony, Hushiaming, the vice-president of East China Normal University (ECNU) and the director of the library of this University delivered a speech and stated: "The holding of the Iranian cultural exhibition in the form of the new Silk Road is very important and significant and the two civilizations of China and Iran have more than 2,000 years of cultural and commercial relations and this exhibition can be a good representative for understanding the great civilization of Iran".
He continued: "The works which are on display in this exhibition represent the brilliant civilization of Iran and when you look at these Iranian handicrafts, painting, miniature and arts and films you observe love and affection in them that attract you to themselves".
In the opening ceremony, Behnam Azad, the Iranian cultural attaché in Shanghai, also delivered a speech. Referring to Iranian rich history and culture and good and historical relations between Iran and China, Behnam Azad stated: "Undoubtedly, the Silk Road during its prosperous and dynamic period was the main link for business continuity and the most influential cultural ties between the people of Iran, China and different countries and in addition to commercial trade of goods, it was also a ground for the exchange of cultural and artistic goods as well as religious and human thought and ideas".
He added: "China and Iran has had close relations in various historical periods and the commuting of businessmen, artists and different people from Iran to China has had some effects; Iran and China are the heirs of important human civilizations".
There Are the Brightest Art and Culture Architecture in Iran
In this ceremony, Ms. Ren Yao, a professor at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), delivered a speech and stated: "Iran of today is a part of the empire and civilization of the ancient Persia. There are the brightest, the most innovative architecture, culture and art in the Iranian civilization".
At the end of this ceremony, an honorable mention and some gifts were given to the Iranian cultural attaché in Shanghai by the president of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU). In addition, Behnam Azad, the Iranian cultural attaché in Shanghai, donated Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam (poetry book) and the proceedings of cultural relations between Iran and China in Chinese language to the president of this University.
According to this report, "Iranian Art and Culture Exhibition from the Silk Road" will run for one month, during which the images of historical sites and scenery of Iran, local costumes, exquisite books on introducing Iran in English and Chinese languages, as well as handicrafts and rugs and pictorial carpets will be exhibited in public. Other programs of this cultural event include showing eight Iranian films with Chinese subtitles.
