In the opening ceremony of Azerbaijan Cultural Week, the head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization stated: "Cultural continuity between Iran and Azerbaijan is a valuable heritage which has remained from the past and neither of the two countries, like these two countries, have the same degree of cultural and historical participation".
According to the Public Relations of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, in the opening ceremony of Azerbaijan Cultural Week in Iran which was held on Tuesday evening (July 4) in the Vahdat Hall, appreciating the holding of Azerbaijan Cultural Week in Iran, Dr. Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman stated: "The holding of this cultural week has provided an opportunity for the two nations to speak with each other in the language of culture".
Stating that Cultural continuity between the two nations is a valuable heritage which has remained from the past, Dr. Ebrahimi Torkaman said: "There are no two countries, like Iran and Azerbaijan, which share so much in various aspects of culture, history and religion".
He continued: "In the history, the name of Baku, Shirvan, Ganja, Tabriz and Ardebil has come as the centers of production of culture and virtue, tolerance and coexistence. Today we are a unit sound in the world of culture".
In another part of his speech, the head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization acknowledged that the holding of Azerbaijan Cultural Week in Iran is not only the introduction of culture, civilization and art of a country, but also represents a part of the common cultural identity that is the common language of all of us in this vast realm and a valuable effort to identify the current capacities and cultural continuity of the two countries and this vast territory.
Referring to the development of radical and extremist thoughts around Iran and Azerbaijan, which is a threat to peace, the member of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution stated: "To cope with these threats we should pay attention more on the genuine culture and traditions of the people of the region which are derived from the Islamic and moral theurgy and the holding of cultural weeks provides an opportunity that artists could find ways to get out of these problems".
At the end of his speech, Dr. Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman, stated: "These great efforts should be respected, and the beneficial efforts that are made to create empathy and bring peace between the two countries should be appreciated".
It is noteworthy that Azerbaijan Cultural Week is being held with the contribution of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization and in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance from 4 to 8 July in Tehran and Isfahan.
