The cultural adviser of Iran met with the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan and both country emphasized the development of bilateral cultural collaboration and the conducting of the Iranian cultural week in Azerbaijan in 2018.

According to the report of public relations and information of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, in the meeting of Asghar Farsi, the Iranian cultural adviser in Baku, and Abolfazl Qarayev, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan, necessity, and development of bilateral cultural collaboration in all fields highlighted and they identified that the holding of cultural weeks is the examples of these collaborations.

In this meeting, the Iranian cultural advisor mentioned the deep similarities between two countries in the fields of historical, cultural, religious, linguistic, customs and the presence of celebrities and scholars which have always played an important role as the friendship bridge between the peoples of the two countries. Also, he mentioned the policy priorities of Iran to develop stronger relations with neighboring countries. In addition, the development of relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan has particular importance due to the existing similarities.

In the following of the meeting, they emphasized on the expansion of collaboration in various cultural and literary sectors. Then, they decided to conduct the Iranian cultural week in 2018 in Azerbaijan. Also, the exhibition of Iranian womens painting and movies of the days of the Islamic Republic of Iran is conducted in Baku.

In this meeting with the presence of Mostafa Mastoor, the famous writer, translator, and researcher in Iran, Asghar Farsi mentioned the great capacities for collaboration between the two countries, especially in the field of contemporary literature and asked for the development of these relations. He also introduced Mostafa Mastoor and his published works on the current state of contemporary literature, especially in the past decade.

Abolfazl Qarayev also highlighted the need for todays generation to increase their knowledge about the literature of the two countries. He also considered the importance of classical literature and emphasized the acquaintance of contemporary literature of the two countries.

Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan mentioned that according to the holding of the Azerbaijan cultural week in Iran at the beginning of this year, informed the preparation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to conduct the most magnificent cultural week of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baku. Also, a collaboration between the two countries in international areas such as UNESCO is an example of the strong and deep relations between the two countries. In addition, the collaboration of two countries in the UNESCO organization for registration of kamancheh music as a spiritual heritage of the two countries is a successful example of collaboration between the two countries.
