Head of the Faculty of Literature in Hacettepe Üniversitesi:

Scientific and academic cooperation between Iran and Turkey should expand

Şükrü Halûk Akalın said at the meeting of our countrys cultural advisor in Ankara that Iran and Turkeys scientific and academic cooperation in context of literature should be expand.

According to the Public Relations Office of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Hasan Safarkhani, the cultural advisor of Iran in Ankara, visited the Faculty of Literature at Hacettepe Üniversitesi and met with the head of the faculty, Şükrü Halûk Akalın and discussed about the expansion of scientific and academic cooperation between these two countries academic and cultural centers.

Safarkhani, in his opening remarks, referred to the scientific and cultural ties and the commonalities between these two countries, said: "In the past, in spite of many problems and the lack of modern facilities and technologies, the communication of the intellectuals and the exchange of ideas and books between these two nations were more than today and there was greater and better understanding of the newest artworks published on literature and poets of each other."

The cultural advisor of our country called for joint scientific meetings, international conferences, exchange of lecturers and students, and creation of study opportunities between Iran and Turkey.

He also announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Irans cultural advisory in Ankara to collaborate with the Faculty of Literature at Hacettepe Üniversitesi in various cultural contexts.

There are cultural and coexistence commonalities between nations of Iran and Turkey

Şükrü Halûk Akalın highlighted the cultural and historical relations and commonalities between Iran and Turkey and assessed the Persian, Turkish and Arabic languages in the region, especially in Turkey.

Head of the Faculty of Literature in Hacettepe Üniversitesi, referred to the existence of Persian words in Turkish language and Turkish words in Persian language, reflecting the cultural commonalities and coexistence of these two nations.

Next, he expressed his interest in expanding scientific and academic cooperation in the context of literature between these two countries and announced this universitys readiness for more cooperation.
