For the first time Iran and France are to hold interreligious dialogue

The first round of religious talks between Iran and France are to be held on Jan. 7-8 in Tehran.

 According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations (ICRO), the subject of the discussions is environment in Islam and Catholic Christianity and meeting will be hosted by Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.

The 4-mmember France delegation is headed by Marseille Bishop and Chairman of the Council of French Catholic Universities, Cardinal Jane Noel Avlin.

Iranian Muslim scholars are to represent Iranian side in the forthcoming talks.

Topic such as protection of environment as brought up in Islamic and catholic Christian texts, violence and extremism as a cause of destruction of environment, responsibility of political and religious leaders in protection of environment and how is it possible to move in path of promoting environmental protection and help its sustainability.
