First Round of Interreligious Dialogue between Iran and France

Cardinal Jane Noel Alvin: Dialogue is manifestation of divine character in Human being

Chief Executive of French Catholic Universities, Cardinal Jane Noel Alvin, speaking at the First Round of Interreligious Dialogue between Iran and France said dialogue is the manifestation of Divine Character in mankind and this characteristic is not limited to believers but all humanity.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO),  Cardinal Alvin said whenever we find God we should continue our search for him.

He added that first Round of Interreligious Dialogue between Iran and France is the first step in this path and whenever a believer gains an experience we should appreciate it.

Chief Executive of French Catholic Universities called for dialogue and coexistence among religions and said Christians work for dialogue with other religions not to impose themselves but to propose and reach a common understanding

 He also said we respect freedom of other religions and their beliefs and rituals not a cosmetic respect, but genuine and deep and for reaching the truth and introducing the ideas we resort to dialogue.

The French Cardinal said dialogue must be real, concrete and a spiritual experience and a real test for our beliefs because spiritual relations among believers is a means to review shared responsibilities between religions.

 He said Islam and Catholic Christianity should work together to prevent damage to environment and have joint responsibility adding that pollution of environment is  one the main problems of today world.

He said pious and adherents of religions should join hands and work hard to protect the environment and dialogue among religions is an important initiative in this direction.

First round of dialogue between Islam and Catholic Christianity was inaugurated Monday morning Jan. 7 at Islamic Culture and Relation Organization compound in center of Tehran attended by 4 French Christian Scholars Headed by Jane Noel Avlin, Bishop of Marseille and a number of Iranian Muslim scholars.

The topic of discussion at this round of talks is importance of environment in Islam and Catholic Christianity.
