Head of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization visits National Library of Japanese Parliament

Abuzar Ebrahimi Turkman, currently visiting Japan to attend a seminar on Interreligious Dialogue on Friday paid an inspection tour of the National Library of Japanese Parliament and in his talks with the chief librarian called for promotion of cultural ties.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the Head of the Organization Mr. Abuzar Ebrahimi Turkman, who is visiting Japan to meet country"s cultural officials and dignitaries and attend an Interreligious meeting on " Status of Family in Islam and Shintoism", on Feb.8 visited the National Library of Japanese Parliament and held talks with its chief librarian Mr. Savako Hanio.

Head of the Japanese National Library briefed his Iranian guest on the activity of the library and called for expansion of ties between Iran and Japan in various areas.  

Mr. Turkman said libraries play an important role in promotion of cultural ties between nations and their knowledge about each other.

Mr. Turkman who was being accompanied by Iranian Cultural Attache to Japan Housein Divsalar and scientific representative to Tokyo Bani Hashemi, while referring to 90th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Tehran and Tokyo said history of relations between the two countries dates back to 1400 years ago adding that there are lots of areas that Iran and Japan can boost their relations and get more acquainted with each other.

 He said we are willing and ready to expand our all out cultural ties with Japan and work for more systematic cooperation between our libraries.   

The gathering of Islamic and Shintoism scholars is due to take place on February 9 at the initiative of Iranian Cultural Mission to Tokyo and Kogakan University of Japan which is the main academic center for teaching Shintoism. The Interreligious Dialogue Center of ICRO and Ise Temple of Japan which is the holiest Shinto site in Japan are also involved in the holding of this seminar.
