Interreligious Dialogue at Manila Ateneo University

The interreligious dialogue under the motto of "International Circle for Global Citizenship and Reaching the Truth, Cordiality and forgiveness"   was held on February 22, attended by Iranian Cultural Attaché to Manila,Mohammad Jaafari Malek.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), in this one day gathering held at Manila Ateneo University adherents of various religions, including Islam, Christianity, Buddhism and Hinduism talked about their idea for reaching truth, cordiality and forgiveness.

From Iran Ms. Taghavi talked about emphasis made in Holy Quran on compassion and forgiveness which are also two characteristics of the almighty God.

Other speakers were Toh Swee Hin, winner of UNESCO"s Award for 2000, M.s Vaswani from Hindu delegation and Ms.Macrina Morados, head of the Center for Islamic Study of the Philippine State University who by reading the Verse of "In the Name of God the Compassionate the merciful" said Islam is the religion of compassion and forgiveness
