Iranian Cultural Week to be held in Vatican

In a meeting between Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance for Cultural Affairs and Minister of Culture of Vatican, it was agreed that Iranian Cultural Week to be held in Vatican at early 2020.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Mohsen Javadi during his visit to Italy met Cardinal Ravasi, Vatican"s Minister of Culture.

During the meeting based on efforts by Iranian Ambassador to Vatican, it was agreed that Iranian Cultural Week to take place in Holy See early 2020 which coincides with 65th anniversary of Cultural ties between Tehran and Vatican.

Cardinal Ravasi in His opening remarks briefly talked about background of cultural cooperation between Tehran and Vatican including 10 rounds of interreligious dialogue between Shiite Islam and Catholic Christianity.

 He proposed holding of Iranian Cultural Week with motto of "relationship between religion and art and culture" in Vatican early 2020.

Cardinal Ravasi said introducing Iranian literary figures and their works, Iranian cinema by screening films and Iranian Music, could form the 3 main features of the said cultural week.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohsen Javadi talking about his familiarity with Vatican due to taking part in numerous interreligious dialogue between Shiite scholars with their Christian counterparts, welcome the first time participation of Vatican at forthcoming Tehran International Book fair.
