Iranian Cultural Mission to Bombay and local Islamic Association to boost their cooperation

Iranian Cultural Mission to India"s second largest city of Bombay and the local Islamic Association have agreed to boost their cooperation in areas such as holding joint seminars, scientific, cultural and literary festivals.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Iranian Cultural Attaché to Bombay, Mohsen Ashouri, in a meeting with the Head of the Islamic Association of Bombay"s Scientific and Cultural Institution, Zahir Qazi discussed ways of promoting bilateral cooperation between Iran and India,

The Indian Muslim official said Iran is a large country in the Middle East and has ancient civilization and has been considered as the cradle of numerous arts throughout the history and has made significant progress in recent decades.

The Iranian Cultural Attache said despite all problems, the Islamic Iran has taken large steps towards progress and today is being looked at as an example for other countries and Muslim nations in particular.  

The person in charge of Iranian Cultural House in Bombay has worked hard along with other concerned Iranian institutions to improve cultural relations between the two civilizations of the eastern world, said the Iranian cultural representative.

He said Iranian cultural House in Bombay is eager to organize joint cultural events such as scientific, cultural, film and literary festivals with the Islamic Association of Bombay.

Then commenting on the historical position of Persian language in the Indian subcontinent, Mr. Ashouri said Persian language, for a period of time has been the official and state language in India and all communications were made in this language.

The Iranian cultural official in Bombay said learning Persian language by Indian students can contribute immensely to their knowledge about their own culture and Indian universities with their considerable potentials can be instrumental for such effort.
