International Quds Day commemorated across the world

The International Quds Day on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan was commemorated in numerous countries across the world in defense of the Palestinian people by the initiative of Iranian Cultural Missions.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), ceremonies marking the "Quds Day" were held in Following Countries:


Afghanistan (Mazari Sharif)

On the occasion of the International "Quds Day", the pious people of Balkh Province in North of Afghanistan took to streets at the provincial capital Mazari Sharif in support of Palestinian people and shouted death to Israel and expressed their anger and hatred against the Zionist regime.

They shouted Allah Akbar and said unity of various Islamic schools of thoughts is a thorn in the side of the United States and Israel adding that Quds belongs to Muslims and is an inseparable part of the Islamic World.

Thousands of People, after marching in streets of Mazari Sharif, gathered at the central mosque of the city and commemorated the international Quds Day.

The gathering came to close by issuing a 12 article communique in support of the Palestinian people and the holy Quds as the first Qibla of Muslims.



On the occasion of International Quds Day, Iranian Cultural Mission in Herat set up a photo exhibition showcasing pictures related to "International Quds Day"

The exhibition was set up through the joint efforts of Iranian Cultural Mission in Herat and Jamaat Islami Party, at one of the best locations of the city near the Governor General office on last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.

In addition to the photo exhibition, 4000 books on Palestinian question and crimes committed by the Zionist regime against Palestinian people were distributes among Shiite and Sunni worshippers on last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan marking the International Quds Day.

A number of films about Palestine were also screened at several cultural centers of Shiites and Sunnis Communities, sending a number of clips on Quds Day to 3 TV channels, holding 4 photo Exhibitions at different location across the city, preparing several posters and encouraging Friday Prayer leaders of both Sunni and Shiite communities to devote their sermon to Palestinian question, were among other arrangements by Iranian Cultural Mission in Herat on the International Quds Day.



A glorious ceremony was held on the occasion of International Quds Day and 30th anniversary of the late Imam Khomeini"s departure in Thai capital Bangkok by Iranian Cultural Attaché.

Large number of prominent cultural, religious and thinkers and Muslim people from all walk of life attended the ceremony.

At this gathering organized by the Iranian Cultural Mission to Bangkok and some local organizations, various programs such as awakening of Islamic Ummah for liberation of Quds, Quranic exhibition and Quran recitation by renowned Thai reciter took place and prominent scholars delivered speech on the question of Palestine and the holy Quds.

Iranian Cultural Attaché Hasankhani talked about the importance of International Quds Day and said Palestinian question is number one issue of the Islamic World and working for liberation of the holy Quds is a duty for every Muslim.

He said the International Quds Day is not limited to expressing support and sympathy with a particular nation but from human perspective is condemnation of culture of aggression, terror and oppression at present time adding that therefor this day in not confined to Islamic World but is an issue for the mankind and freedom loving people all over the world.

Iranian Cultural Attaché to Bangkok said 30 years have passed since designating last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as Quds day  by Imam Khomeini and this day has become more and more important each year and such increasing importance of the International Quds Day shows the wisdom of the late Imam Khomeini who designated this day in support of the Palestinian people and struggle against all sorts of aggression, terror and usurping lands of other people and violating their human rights, phenomenon that must be eradicated entirely through resistance.

 Iranian Ambassador to Thailand, Mr. Mohammadi referring to coincidence of the International Quds Day and 30th anniversary of demise of the late Imam Khomeini,  talked about deep believe of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran on masses and people"s power and by getting disappointed with the Muslim rulers, he turned to the masses of Muslim and designated the Quds day as day of unity and solidarity of Muslim Ummah and symbol of campaign against tyranny and rise of Palestinian people against sufferings such as cruelties, massacre, homelessness , torture, occupation and crime against humanity perpetuated by Zionist regime.

 Several local scholars and prominent personalities also praised Imam Khomeini (RH) for designating the Quds Day and his strong will for annihilation of Israel and described his initiative in naming the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as Quds day as continuation of the mission of the holy Prophet of Islam (SA).
