Joint meeting of Islam and Christianity in the Philippines

On the occasion of last day of the holy month of Ramadan, a gathering was held between scholars of Islam and Christianity at the Iranian Cultural Mission in the Philippines.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the meeting was attended by Iranian Cultural Attaché to Manila, Mohammad Jaafar Malek and Hojatoleslam Dastmalchi a clergy dispatched from Iran and from Christian side officials of Filipino Catholic Church and professors of Saint Thomas Christian University.

Iranian Cultural Attaché briefed the Christian clergies and scholars about the fasting and fast breaking rituals.

Hojatoeslam Dastmalchi talked about the proximity of Abrahamian Religions and said we should know that the truth and reality of all religions is the same and all religions have similar mission and that is to lead and guide the people.

The Christian scholar of a social movement concerned with interreligious dialogue said meetings like this can help to bring followers of various religions closer to each other.
