The Chairman of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization in a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Tehran said Russian Cultural Week will be opened next Iranian month in Tehran

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the Russian Ambassador to Tehran Mr. Levan Dzhagaryan on Monday Oct. 14 met Mr. Abuzar Ebrahimi Turkaman at the Headquarters of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization in downtown Tehran and they discussed issues related to forthcoming Russian Cultural Week.

Mr. Turkaman while referring to shared culture between Iran and Russia said exchange of Russian and Iranian cultural delegations and direct contact between scholars and intellectuals of two countries, reflects the close ties with the two nations and that the Russian side hopes that in the future we witness further expansion of our cultural relations.

He called for establishment of Khazar Cultural Foundation as a venue for cultural cooperation among Caspian Sea littoral sates and said such institution can contribute to strengthening of friendly relations between Iran, Russia. Republic of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

 Signing of cultural Cooperation Agreement, establishment of Russian Cultural Center In Tehran and closer cooperation between cultural centers of Iran and Russia were among other proposals put forward by the Chairman of Islamic Culture and Relations in his talks with Russian Ambassador to Tehran.

 The Russian Ambassador Mr. Levan Dzhagaryan informed Mr. Turkaman about readiness of his government"s readiness to hold Russian Cultural Week in Tehran and said during that one week cultural event, Russian musicians can perform programs and exhibition of Russian handicrafts, paintings and other Russian products can be set up in Iran.

 He said a 50-member delegation of Russian officials will visit Iran during the said cultural week to hold talks with concerned Iranian authorities and tour Iranian cultural sites and centers.
