The Iranian Cinema Day was held in Kazakhstan by screening two Iranian films, "The Maritime Silk Road" and "Painting Pool" for a larger number of students and professors of Kazakhstan"s Turan University.
According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the First Vice Chancellor of the Turan University and Iranian Cultural Attaché, Ali Kebriaee were among those who watched the two Iranian films.
The Vice Chancellor of Turan University, speaking at the opening ceremony of this cultural event said Islamic Republic of Iran as country with rich culture and civilization was the first country recognizing independence of our country and Tehran-Almaty established their diplomatic relations in January 1992 and since then two nations have enjoyed friendly relations.
He said the Iranian Cinema Day is being held within the framework of cultural relations and based on a memorandum of understanding between the two countries adding that this occasion will help us to get familiar with potentials of Iran.
Iranian cultural Attaché talking about the shared culture and civilization between Iran and Kazakhstan said we are two neighboring countries that for many centuries have interacted with each other and the renowned poet Rudaki, who is considered as the father of Persian verses in his poems has referred to Kazakh city Taraz and exulted people of this city.
Kebriaee Zadeh said other Persian reference books such as "Rashidi History" and Jameoltavarikh have also made references to life of Kazakh people and such attributions show that Iranians and Kazakhs have been in touch with each other during the course of history.
He added that such interactions continue today between the two nations in a satisfactory manner and in most of the cultural and scientific events taking place in each country, their scholars and officials take part along each other.
Iranian Cultural Attaché talking about Iranian cinema and film industry said Iranian cinema is well known internationally and praised in many prestigious global film festivals each year.
Referring to Fajr International Film Festival, Kebriaee Zadeh said this festival has been held without any interruption during the past 35 years and has become one of the well-recognized festivals of its kinds and helped thriving of Iranian film industry.
He concluded his speech by saying that watching a quality film will help us to have deep and accurate understanding of various phenomenon adding that I am sure that Kazakh students by seeing the two Iranian films of Maritime Silk Road and Painting Pool will have better knowledge and understanding about Iran and its people.
