In a joint effort by Iranian Cultural Mission to Athens and a Greek cultural center, a night with Iranian short films was held in Greek capital.
According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Iranian Cultural Attaché to Athens, Ali Mohammad Helmi, Deputy Mayor of Athens for Cultural Affairs and a group of local dignitaries attended the event.
A Greek cultural official talking about Iranian cinema and screening of Iranian films in Athens said Iranian film industry, because of young filmmakers and directors an many universities devoted to film and cinema, has made significant progress and it is an honor for us to screen Iranian films in our cultural center. She said Iranian cinema is one the most successful of its kind in the world.
Iranian Cultural Attaché speaking at the same gathering said Iranian cinema in post- revolution has opened a new window towards Meaningful Cinema and many noble films have been produced during the said era as a consequence of Islamic Revolution.
He called for promotion of cultural and friendly relations between Iran and Greek as two nations with ancient culture and civilization.
Seven Iranian short films with Greek subtitles were shown in the program called a night with Iranian Short films.
