Commemoration of Nowruz in Ugandan Radio Belal

On the eve of the Iranian New Year, Iranian Cultural Attaché to Uganda, spoke about the traditions and rituals of the Iranian New Year celebration in Radio Uganda"s program "Peace in a Glance".

According to Public Relations Department of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Iranian Cultural Attaché l Mohammad Reza Qezelsufla spoke about the history of Solar and Lunar Calendars, meaning of seasons and Nowruz celebrations and rituals.

He said Nowruz rituals are based on Iranian-Islamic culture and teachings adding that during Nowruz celebrations people visit their kiss and kin, help needy people and try to forget and leave behind negative feelings towards each other, clean up their homes and environment, all of them parts of Islamic teachings.

Qezelsufla said ritual of Iranian New Year which are compatible with human nature and sublime teachings of Islam, contribute to flourishment of mankind, awakening, peace, friendship, unity, endeavor and hope for better life.

 A Ugandan University Professor Mr. Adam Siyala who is a prominent Iranologist speaking at the same program while translating words of Iranian Cultural Attaché, himself talked about messages of Nowruz such as solidarity, peaceful coexistence among freedom loving nations , sympathy with deprived and suffered people
