Coronavirus closes down art and cultural programs in Malaysia

The biggest biennale art event of Malaysia for 2020 was cancelled because of coronavirus fear.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Malaysian National Art Gallery (NAG) on Mar.23 announced that KUL Biennale has been canceled out of the fear of Coronavirus and endangering the public health in coming months.

The said cultural event was due to take place on September and continue till February 2021.

Malaysian Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Art, last week by releasing an official statement announced that all tourist sites, cultural and art centers all across the country, including Malaysian Tourism Center (Ma TiC).\, National Art Gallery, National Library and museum will remain closed till Mar.30.

Several other art and cultural centers including Malaysian Tether will remain closed up the March 31 and the main performance house of Kuala Lumpur that was inaugurated in 2005 has been closed for the first time.
