Statement by the Center for Interreligious Dialogue on the occasion of the World Quds Day

The Interreligious Dialogue Center of the Islamic Culture and Relation Organization has issued a statement on the occasion of the World Quds Day in support of the oppressed Palestinian people.

According to Public Relations Department of the Islamic Culture and Relations organization (ICRO) the statement reads as follows:

(Coalition of the Religions against Oppression and Occupation). Continuation of oppression and occupation for the past 70 years by the Zionist regime against the Palestinians and making this nation homeless and destitute, have made the Palestinian people, both Muslim and Christian to campaign for retak their destination into their own hands during those difficult times, offering tens of thousands of martyrs and prisoners in defense of their homeland and hoisting the flag of fight against the oppression.

Taking of land by force and military action is illegal

The International Court of Justice, in its advisory opinion about the Buffer Wall has ruled that acquiring of any territory through the means of force and military action is prohibited and will not result in any right and title and this principle of prohibition of resorting to force has become an international norm upheld by the United Nations. The International Court of Justice as the legal body of the UN has made it clear that responsibility and commitment of the international community and the United Nations towards the Palestinian question is not merely a moral and ethical undertaking. All member states of UN are legally bound not to tolerate and accept the illegal consequences of this illegitimate situation. The court in its advisory rule has underlined that the Security Council of the United Nation should pay due attention to the flagrant violation of international laws and regulations, especially the human rights violation by the Israeli regime and take necessary action to put an end to the ongoing atrocities.

The US Administration, in order to legitimize occupation is baking the so called "Deal of the Century" and annexation of Palestinian territories

In addition, all governments are legally bound to refrain from recognizing and accepting this illegitimate situation and should not provide any help for maintaining of this situation. They are also duty bound to provide necessary assistance and support the campaign aimed at ending such illegal acts by the Zionist regime.

But under the current situation that the inhumane regime of the United States, in violation of all international laws and regulations and undermining human rights supports and recognizes occupation and upholds what is called the Deal of the Century, this justice seeking struggle has become twice as importance as before and observing the World Quds Day is considered as the response of the conscience and awakened people for such faithful and human cause.

The Interreligious Dialogue Center of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization by taking this religious and human responsibility into consideration urges all religious leaders to take part in this justice seeking struggle aimed at putting an end to the brazen violation of obligatory international laws and on the occasion of the World Quds Day, in solidary with all believers and religious minded people and demonstrate their objection and opposition to occupationist policies of the Zionist regime and the flagrant violation of the human rights and express their solid support to Palestinian people and uphold the right of this nation.
