An Ethiopian Iranologist has expressed his willingness to translate Molanas poems into his countrys native language

A prominent Ethiopian Iranologist and translator, Professor Tesfi Ghese Se in his meeting with Iranian Cultural Attaché to Addis Ababa Salman Rostami spoke of his interest and willingness to Translate a selection of Molana Jalal-e-Din Mohammad Molavi"s poems into Amharic language.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), during the meeting of Iranian Cultural Attaché and Ethiopian Iranologist and translator, they also talked about the story behind translation of Khayyam"s Rubaiyat into Amharic language and the reason for its several republication in Ethiopia.

Professor Tesfai Ghese Se translated Rubaiyat Khayyam into Ethiopian official Amharic language some 25 years ago and his works has been reprinted 6 times so far.

Iranian cultural Attaché to Ethiopia in his talks with Ethiopian professor hoped that he can also translate works of other Iranian renowned poets.

Tesfai Ghese Se said he intends to translate a selection of Molana Jalal-e-Din Mohammad Molavi"s poems into Amharic language by cooperation of Iranian Cultural Mission to Addis Ababa.
