Iranian Cultural Attaché to Yerevan in an effort to expand cultural cooperation between Iran and Armenia, met and held discussions with chairman and researchers of Armenian Academy of Literature Institute.

According to the Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), in meeting between Seyed Hosein Tabatabaei and Vartan Doreikian, the Armenian official introduced his colleagues and said they are top researchers on Armenian literature and each of them have written valuable books about Armenian language and literature.

 He said in the past Armenian Academy of Literature Institute has worked closely with Iranian Cultural Mission and expressed his personal interest and his colleagues" willingness to expand bilateral cooperation.

Iranian Cultural Attaché in his opening remarks said Iran and Armenia due their past shared culture and civilization have extensive literary commonalities and the works of Iranian great poets and writers are reflected in works of Armenian renowned poets such as Avtic Isahakian, Hovanes Tomanian, Hovanes Shiraz and others.

Seyed Hosein Tabatabaei proposed holding of a scientific seminar on the occasion of the commemoration day of the great Persian speaking poet, Nizami Ganjavi with participation of Iranian and Armenian researchers. Both sides agreed to discuss details of such gathering by two countries" researchers.
