Mourners gathered at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad to hold mourning ceremonies to immortalize the event of Karbala.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO, Hojatoleslam Khademi was the speaker at the ceremony on the seventh night of Muharram. He talked about the need for the coordinated action of social circles in the Islamic societies and considered trusting in God and not the enemies as the necessity path for realizing the good life.
Hojatoleslam Tabataba"i delivered a historical analysis of the Ashura event the following night. He considered some social features in the society of that time as the background of Ashura event.
Tabataba"i went on to mention that the clan and sectarian as well as the financial system created during the time of the second caliph as the underlying factors of the Ashura event. Mourning ceremonies are being held for 10 nights under the management of the Cultural Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad and will also be broadcast live on the Facebook page and Instagram of Iran"s Cultural Mission for the use of Iranians living in Iraq.
