Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Pakistani ruling party, Habib Erfani, said during a meeting with the Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lahore Pakistani scholars are very much interested in strengthening og unity and solidarity among world Muslim community.

According to the Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) Seyed Mohammad Habib Erfani, in his meeting with Jafar Ronas, Cultural Attaché and Head of the Culture House of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lahore called for strengthening of religious ties between the Tehran and Islamabad.

Erfani said interactions and visit by religious figures between Iran and Pakistan can provide the basis for Islamic unity in the region. The Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Ruling Party of Pakistan added considering that the common enemies of Iran and Pakistan are always beating the drums of sectarian and religious differences to achieve their goals, one should be aware of these conspiracies.

 He pointed to the important role of the Islamic Republic of Iran plays in uniting the Islamic Ummah in the world and noted Pakistani scholars support Iran"s efforts in bringing Islamic Schools of Thoughts closer to each other and strengthening unity among them.

 The member of the Council of Islamic Ideology also spoke about the efforts of Takfiri elements in Pakistan to downplay the great events in the history of Islam, including Ghadir Khumm and the tragic event of Muharram.

 Jafar Ronas pointed out that the broad religious commonalities between different religions and said exaggerating small number of religious differences will eventually lead to a rift between Muslims, and in the meantime, the Western arrogance will be the winner of quarrel among Muslims.

Iran"s Cultural Attaché in Lahore added before the outbreak of coronavirus, great international unity ceremonies and conferences were held in Iran every year, but now these meetings are followed through webinars with the presence of scholars of different Islamic religions in different countries, including Pakistan. He invited the official of the ruling party of Pakistan to cooperate in holding joint religious ceremonies and rituals under the banner of proximity among various brunches of Islam.
