| Besides the coordination and supervision of the activities of the cultural publishing centers in the field of foreign propagation, this department also bears the responsibility of preserving the cultural and national identity of the Iranians living abroad.
The most important functions of this department are:
- Direction, supervision, coordination, and supporting of the publication and press sections affiliated to the ICRO;
- Publication, and distribution of books, magazines, newspapers, and other periodicals within and outside Iran;
- Thwarting the mispropaganda by the world arrogant powers and the psychological and propagation activities of the enemies of Islam and the Islamic Republic of Iran;
- Supporting people’s active participation in worldwide religious dissemination;
- Reviewing the conditions of the Iranian migrants and taking the necessary steps towards the preservation and strengthening of their cultural identity;
- Organizing and participating in various culture and art exhibitions and festivals within Iran and abroad in collaboration with other concerned departments;
- Producing various audio-visual programs by availing of the services of local and foreign institutions.
