Beginning of the 17th Iranian Film Festival in Serbia

The 17th Iranian Film Festival in Serbia, with the support of our countryʼs cultural advisory, began at the Kinotka Cinema Museum in Belgrade.

According to the Public Relations Office of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the 17th Iranian Film Festival in Serbia started on 14th of March, with the support of the Cultural advisory of the Islamic Republic of Iran and cooperation of the country"s cinematic organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Farabi Foundation and the Office of Cultural Cooperation and Iranian Affairs of the Overseas the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, by displaying five Iranian films at the Kinoteka Cinema Museum in Belgrade.

This great art event began with the movie "Silent Rana" directed by Mr. Behzad Rafiee, during which four other films, entitled "Voice of Silence" directed by Mr. Hadi Naiji, "Under the Smoky Roof" directed by Mrs. Pouran Derakhshandeh, "As Simple as That". " directed by Mr. Reza Mirkarimi and" Azar, Shahdokht, Parviz and others "directed by Mr. Behrooz Afkhami with the Serbian subtitles.

At the opening ceremony, a number of foreign ambassadors and cultural officials living in Belgrade, the head of the Serbian cinema museum, a group of artists, students of Persian language, Serbian academic and cultural elites, as well as Iranian residents and members of the Embassy and Cultural Advisor of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the national anthem of the two countries, Marian Voyevich, head of the museum and program director of the Kinoteka of Serbia, said: "The first country to start cooperation with this cinematic museum is Iran. He thanked the Iranian cultural advisor in Belgrade for continuing the film week over the past 17 years, hoping that this cooperation will develop even more.

Mr. Hossein Mulla Abdollahi, Ambassador of Iran to Serbia, said: "Iran is one of the most active and most full audience cinema in the world, and annually an average of 100 cinematic films are produced in Iran. He continued: Iranian films have been widely welcomed in the world due to their family, value, ethical and high-quality issues and the tact of Iranian filmmakers, and many of Iran"s cinematic films at international festivals have received valuable awards.

Mr. Mullah Abdollahi added: "The people of Serbia are familiar with directors and Iranian films, and they annually welcome Iranian films. Ambassador of Iran also expressed his hope that with the increase of tourism, cultural and artistic interactions would be further enhanced to provide a better understanding of the two nations.
