Iran and China in a joint effort to promote peace and stability among nations away from religious fanaticism and extremism, have decided to cooperate on interreligious dialogues.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Iranian Cultural Attaché to Beijing, Abbasali Vafaee visited Taoism Association and met the Deputy Chairman of the Association, Huang Xin Yong and discussed cultural cooperation between the two countries.

The Chinese official talked about cooperation between Taoism Association and Islamic Republic of Iran, since 2017 when he visited Tehran.

He described his talks with Iranian religious figures and scholar a positive experience adding that Iran is an ancient, historic and very famous country in the world and that"s why holding interreligious dialogue with such a country is very important for us.

 The Deputy Chairman of Taoism Association of Beijing said in 2020, his institution will hold an international conference in the Chinese city of Gansu and invited 3 Iranian researcher and scholars of Taoism to the forthcoming event

Iranian Cultural Attaché for his part spoke of the background of interreligious dialogue between Islam and other Divine religions and said such dialogues will contribute to understanding and proximity of nations and followers of various religions. He said most of the conflicts in today world originates from lack of dialogue and discussions.

Iranian Cultural Attaché said Islamic Republic of Iran attaches great importance to dialogue among cultures and religions and due to this approach, Iranian official institutions pursue such interactions.

Abbasali Vafaee the Department of Religious Proximity and the Center for Interreligious and Inter-culture Center of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization are tasked to follow up such interactions with foreign religious and cultural organizations.
