A memorandum of understanding has been signed by Iranian University of Jundishapour of Dezful and the Philippines State University on academic cooperation.
According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), members of a delegation from the Filipino State University during their visit to Iran, on Monday Oct. 13, signed the first cooperation agreement with one of the largest universities of Khuzestan Province.
During the meeting between visiting Filipino academic delegation with the Chancellor of Jundishapour University, Mr. Mohammad Reza Assari, the Iranian academic official said one of the objectives of his university is cooperation with foreign academic centers adding that so far agreements have been signed with Italian and Armenian universities and in near future similar agreement will be signed with Iraqi universities.
He said, inside the country there a consortium of universities including Amir Kabir and Shaheed Beheshti universities and universities of 10th district and through this entity, we have contact with numerous foreign universities.
During the meeting, each side briefed the opposite party about its own university and discussed issues of mutual interest such as exchange of students and professors, conducting joint research works and holding scientific workshops.
The 13-member delegation of the Philippines State University are visiting Iran to get familiar with Iranian academic centers and acquainted with scientific potentials of Islamic Republic of Iran.
The visit has been arranged and facilitated by Iranian Cultural Mission to Manila and Iranian authorities in charge of relations with foreign academic centers and some Iranian universities.
