The Sri LankanPeple"s liberation Front (JVP), in a statement condemned the US sanctions against Islamic Republic of Iran, Cuba, Syria and Venezuela.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the Sri Lankan political party has condemned measures taken by the imperialist governments and the United States of America in Particular headed by country"s President, Donald Trump in imposing economic sanctions against these countries during a time when governments and people of Iran, Cuba, Syria and Venezuela are fighting against the Coronavirus.

The statement by Sri Lankan JVP went on by saying that we hereby declare that imposing such inhumane sanctions while the world is crippled by this deadly virus is an act of barbarism. The US Administration by continuing these sanctions at this critical time is not only trying to apply the maximum pressure on these nations but also prevents sending of humanitarian aids from other countries to people of the said countries.

The statement concludes by saying that we want to stress that security of all nations including the United States depends on international humanitarian cooperation but the American imperialist government by imposing brutal sanctions against other nations including Islamic Republic of Iran, Cuba, Venezuela and Syria threatens livelihood and wellbeing of these nations and undermines their governments efforts aimed at containing the spread of the Coronavirus.
