The Interreligious and Cultural Dialogue, affiliated to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, has issued a statement on the continued anti-Islamic policies of the French government reflected in the so called "Charter of French Islamic Principles".
According to the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the Center, lamenting the continued anti-Islamic policies of the French government, has expressed concern over the systematic pressures of French authorities and some of the country"s media on the French Muslim community by demanding a number of Muslim organizations in France to sign the so called "Charter of the Principles of Islamic Islam in France."
The statement says that the French government and President, in line with the insult made against the Holy Prophet of Islam by a French magazine, continue to beat the drum of Islamophobia under the pretext of defending the values of the French Republic and supporting freedom of expression and secular system of government.
The statement released by the Center for the Interreligious and Cultural Dialogue adds, it quite clear that citizens of any country are subject to the laws of their respective countries and expatriates residing in another country should respect the laws of their country of residence, but discriminatory rules are imposed on the Muslim community and forcing Muslims residing in France to adapt themselves to so called "French Islam" instead of the Islam that almighty God has revealed to His Holy Prophet, is not compatible with human rights or the freedom and values that French government claims to their upholding.
the statement, terms such as concepts as "French Islam" and "political Islam", "French Christianity", "French Judaism", "political Christianity" and "political Judaism", as vague and incomprehensible interpretations reflected in the said prejudiced charter.
The forced confession of the country"s Muslims in France, is reminiscent of the dark days of Europe and undoubtedly such anti-human rights measures will only lead to the increased extremism and violence.
Center for the interreligious and Cultures Dialogue, calls on world religious leaders, intellectuals and thinkers, in France in particular, to urge the French government and policymakers to act in a more rational manner and respect justice.
The statement urges the French government, instead of entering the domain of the faith and beliefs of the Muslims of this country and imposing secularism, to protect the sanctity of their rights and freedom and refrain from spreading Islamophobia in French society and promoting propaganda frenzy and institutionalize tolerance and peaceful coexistence and prevent insult against sanctities of religions and hurt the feelings of believers in the divine religions.
