Iranian Cultural Attaché to Pakistan, Jaafar Ronas in a meeting with Managing Director of the Walled City of Lahore Authority, Kamran Lashari two sides discussed identification of the two countries" concrete heritage and cultural commonalities.
According to the Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Iranian Cultural Attaché in his opening remarks talked about the existing potentials of Iran and Pakistan for prompting art and cultural relations and similarity of their cultural monuments said Islamic Republic of Iran has considerable experience in renovation and repairing of historical and ancient monument adding that we are willing to exchange our experiences in this sector with concerned Pakistani specialists.
Ronas Jaafari, who is also the person in charge of Iranian Cultural House in the Pakistani city of Lahore, referring to a number of inscriptions in several historical sites in Lahore, proposed making a documentary about these inscriptions and said in order to proceed with this project he needs cooperation and assistance of the Walled City of Lahore Authority.
The Director General of Walled City of Lahore Authority talked about his passionate feeling towards Iran and Iranians and said there are so many historic monuments in Lahore that you can find inscriptions in Persian language with highly mystic connotations but visitors are not able to read and understand the writings. He added that there is project to translate these inscriptions into Urdu to make the visitors aware of their contents and for doing so the help of Iranian Cultural House will be essential.
The Pakistani official also spoke about the role played by Iranian religious and mystic personalities in promoting Islam in Indian subcontinent adding that in October this year a project will start to do some repair work inside of the Empirical Castle in Lahore and Islamic Republic of Iran can help us in better execution of this project.
