Iran"s cultural attaché in Herat, Majid Khaleqnia, and the chairman of the board of the Ferdowsi Institute of Health Sciences in Herat, Nasser Sena met and discussed ways to expand scientific and academic cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Naser Sana, referring to the religious, cultural and linguistic commonalities between the people of the two countries, expressed the interest of Afghan students to study in the universities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The chairman of the board of the Ferdowsi Institute called for the expansion of scientific and academic cooperation with Iran, especially Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.
He also added we need the cooperation of the Iranian Culture House in Herat to hold short courses, new specialized educational books and online classes, use of libraries and research centers of Iranian universities, scientific tours of students and professors, mutual research relations and equipping libraries and laboratories.
Khaleqnia, considering the good educational and research infrastructure in Iranian universities, especially in the fields required by the Ferdowsi Institute of Health Sciences in Herat, considered it necessary to sign a memorandum of understanding with some Afghan universities and Iranian academic centers.
