Jakarta hosts Persian calligraphy show

The Iranian Embassy in Jakarta has mounted an exhibition of artworks created by Iranian calligrapher Mojtaba Sabzeh in the Indonesian capital.

The three-day event displayed Islamic calligraphy works by Sabzeh as well as Persian calligraphy samples. Visitors also attended workshops, a seminar and discussions sessions held on the sidelines of the exhibition, Press TV reports.

Mojtaba Sabzeh specializes in Islamic calligraphy and his works have been showcased in different Muslim countries where the art is highly respected.

"The majority of people in Iran are very interested in calligraphy," Sabzeh told Press TV. "This is the reason why I became fascinated by the art [form]."

The exhibition of Sabzehs works was held at the Galeri Cipta III in Jakarta.
