Introduction

A thousand years has past since the earliest days of Persian literature, a period during which Iran has gone through many ups and downs marking its tumultuous history. a fact that has made the fruits of the efforts of Muslims, especially Iranian Muslims, the focus of world attention. Persian literature is the true repository and the locus of manifestation of the thousand-year efforts of Persian-speaking Muslims in the field of science and arts and letters, from epic and poetry to novel and history, and from Quranic exegesis and ethics to philosophy and mysticism.
