Iran and Indonesia to promote their cooperation on film industry

In a meeting between Iranian Cultural Attaché to Jakarta with one of Indonesian top filmmakers, both sides called for promotion of bilateral cooperation on film industry and exchange of experiences among two countries, artist and technical people.

 According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Iranian Cultural Attaché Mehrdad Rakhshande in his meeting with the leading Indonesian filmmaker, Chand Parviz Seroya on Friday Nov. 1 discussed issues of mutual interest including expansion of cooperation in filmmaking activities and exchange of technical information and experiences.

 Mr. Rakhshandeh talked about good cultural and historical relations between Iranian and Indonesian governments and people and said progress made by Islamic Republic of Iran in Film industry during the post Revolution era is something acknowledged by everyone and today Iranian cinema in its very unsophisticated manner, but very meaningful nature and high technic has been able to attract many cinema enthusiast in the world, confronting the cinema giants, like Hollywood and Bollywood.

 He talked about numerous film festivals in Iran including International Chelcheragh Film festival, Roshd, children films, short films, documentaries and most famous among them, the International Fajr film festival attended by leading filmmakers from across the world.

 He said Iranian side is ready for cooperation with Indonesian filmmakers and proposed joint production of films between Iranian and Indonesian filmmakers. Rakhshandeh also invited Indonesian film industry people to attend Iranian film festivals.


The Indonesian filmmaker, Chanad Parviz Seroya for his part talked about the history of Iranian cinema and its international fame and described production of valuable historic, religious and art laden film as a praiseworthy achievement. He noted that he knows Iranian cinema and is fond of Iranian films.

 This Indonesian prominent filmmaker said Iranian highly valued films are very interesting adding that so far he has attend two film festivals in Tehran.

 Chand Parviz Seroya also said he is looking forward to be able to cooperate Iranian filmmakers and artists.
