Nigerian students are interested to follow up their studies at Iranian universities

The Head of the History and Diplomacy Department of Abuja University in his meeting with Iranian Cultural Attaché to Nigeria said Nigerian students are interested to pursue their studies at Iranian universities.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Iranian Cultural Attaché to Abuja, seyyed Mahmoud Azimi Nasrabadi, in an effort to promote scientific and academic relations between Islamic Republic of Iran and Nigeria met and held talks with the Head of the History and Diplomacy Department of Abuja University Mr. Philip Afaha.

 

Offering study opportunities for Nigerian students and professors

 

Iranian Cultural Attaché briefed the Nigerian academic official about progress made  by Iranian academic centers during the post-revolution era and said Iranian Cultural Mission to Abuja is ready and willing to work for improvement of all out relations between the two countries.

 He also proposed exchange of professors and students between the two countries as well as study opportunities, joint research works, establishing Persian language department at Abuja University and national language of Nigeria in Iranian Universities.

He also said academic centers of Islamic Republic of Iran and Nigeria can have digital connections of their universities and setting up Iranian and Nigerian rooms in Iranian and Nigerian academic libraries.

 The Nigerian academic official for his part talked about ancient Iranian culture and civilization and their role in shaping human civilization and said with respect to significant progress made by Iran in science and academic sectors, Nigerian students are interested to follow up their studies at Iranian universities and we want to expand our cultural relations with Tehran.

 Iranian Cultural Attaché to Abuja presented a book about the history of Iranian art to the Head of History and Diplomacy Department of Nigerian University and promised to provide more books of this kind to library of Abuja University to make the Nigerian students more familiar with Iran.

 Mr. Nasrabadi also attended as the guest of honor, the graduation ceremony of students of Abuja Nile University.
