The 8th round of Islam- Christianity dialogue is to take place in Vienna next year

In a meeting between the Austrian Ambassador to Tehran and the accompanying Delegation with the Head of Interreligous Dialogue Center, Hojatoleslam Mohammad Mahdi Taskhiri, two sides agreed to hold the next round of talks between Muslim and Christian scholars in Austrian capital Vienna next year.

 According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the Austrian Cultural Attaché to Tehran, Mr. Riger, Director of the Holy Family Residency in Holy Quds, Father Marcus Stephen Bogniar and Manager of Be&Be Publishing Firm, Mr. Marcus Dusk, also took part in the meeting and discussions.

Hojatoeslam Taskhiri in his opening remarks welcomed the Austrian delegation members and called for continued interreligious dialogue between the two countries.

He said 7 rounds of such dialogue with Austrian Church have been very successful and constructive and we hope the 8th round to be the same.

 The Austrian Ambassador to Tehran called for further interreligious talks between Tehran and Vienna and said the Head of the Austrian Church, His Holiness" Cardinal Christoph Schonborn has expressed his willingness to visit Islamic Republic of Iran and we hope to get your consent for such visit.

Director of the Holy Family Residency in the Holy Quds, Father Marcus Stephen Bogniar said the Austrian Residency in East Holy Quds was established some 160 years ago adding that he had made this visit to Tehran to learn more about Iran"s experience on pilgrimage aimed at boosting spirituality in our community.

The Head of Interreligious Dialogue Center affiliated with Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, welcome the suggestion on visit by Head of Austrian Church to Tehran and said in Iran we have large number of holy shrines and religious sites and have considerable experience in arrangements of religious tourism and pilgrimage and are ready to share our experiences in this area with  our Christian brothers.
