Expansion of cultural exchanges between Iran and China is needed

The Head of the Film Program of the One Belt -one Road project said expansion of cultural exchanges especially in film industry section between Iran and China is essential and such cooperation should be included in both side"s agenda.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Communication Organization, the Head of the Film Program of the One Belt -one Road, YU Xiao said Iran and China are two nations with long history and ancient civilization and they need to promote their cultural, cinema and academic relations.

 He said the society under his management is responsible for film and cinema cooperation with Iran adding that so far a number of Iranian filmmakers and directors have been invited to China.

YU Xiao said the Iranian film "Qasre Shirin" made by Reza Mir Karimi has been warmly welcomed by Chinese movie enthusiasts adding that one of that tasks of his society is to introduce top films of other countries to Chinese people.

 The Chinese cultural official said Chinese filmmaking institutions and academies are ready to cooperate with Iranian film industry. He said Iran is well known for its film industry adding that shared culture between the two countries provides a good opportunity for jointly made films.

YU Xiao said friendly political relations between Tehran and Beijing is very helpful backing for expansion of cultural and filmmaking cooperation and this great potential should be utilized by both sides.
