Ashura

The story of two martyred brothers, Hamid and Mahdi Bakri, two battalion commanders of Iran’s Armed Forces during the Iraq-Iran War (1980-1988). Mahdi requests his younger brother to join him at the war front and despite certain existing problems, Hamid honors his brother’s request. Following Operation Kheibar, Mahdi Bakri must return home alone, leaving his brother behind. The series narrates the tragic story of Mahdi’s journey to find out what happened to his brother and how he copes with his loss.
