Surely this Qur’an guides to that which is most upright and gives good news to the believers who do good that they shall have a great reward (Holy Qur’an, 17:9)

 

In order to spread the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and strengthen the unity of the Islamic Ummah, as well as, to honor the selected Qur’anic reciters and memorizers of Islamic world, The Iranian Endowment and Charity Organization, with the blessings of Allah, is proud to hold the 41^th IRI International Holy Qur’an Competition in 2024-2025 AD/1446 AH in Mashhad Holy City, Iran

 

General Qualifications:

1) Being technically qualified in the desired field (preferably the winners of domestic and formal competitions (of the guest country));

2) Holding citizenship/nationality of the guest country (holding the passport of the guest country is mandatory);

3) Not getting first rank of IRI International competitions;

4) Not having second or third rank of IRI international competitions for the last 3 years;

5) Being in the qualified age group (more 18 and less 40);

6) Use formal clothes suitable for the Holy Qur’an in all the stages of the competition, both in-person and hybrid.

7) Being a permanent resident of the guest country (at least 1 year leading up to the competition).

 

 

Note: The competitions of men and women are held separately due to compliance with Sharia standards.

Remarks:

1) Every participant can only choose one field.

2) The chosen field cannot be changed after submitting the completed registration form.

3) The IRI organizer only covers the costs and fees for the VISA, around trip ticket, and accommodation during the competition in Iran. Other expenses, including personal expenses, domestic travels, and changing the flight date and itinerary upon the guest’s request shall be covered by the participant, and the organizer shall not be responsible for them.

4) The required documents including: 1- A 3-minute video file of talāwat (for qarā’at) or tarteel (for tarteel and memorozation), 2- A copy of the 1^st page of passport (with at least 1-year validity), 3- a high-resolution scanned photo taken recently, should be attached to the application form and sent to the Political and Cultural Representative Offices of IRI.

5) The deadline for registration is october 3, 2024(applications after the deadline will not be considered).

Preliminary Phases:

(1) Tahqeeq Recitation:

The participants should choose one of the parts below and send their recitation with the full observance of theTajweed,Waqf,Ibtida,Lahn, etc. according to the Judgment by-law of the I.R. Iran competition jury in a video file (maximum size: 20 Mb) through the designated contact information of the organizer.

Part 1	from Hood, Verse: 110 (wa laqad)	to end of verse 114 (li al-dhākirīn)
Part 2	from Al-'An'ām, Verse: 31 (qad)	to end of verse 34 (al-mursalīn)

 

(2) Whole Qur’an Memorization

The preliminary examination of Holy Qur’an memorization will be held live online with the prior appointment set for each participant, for which the organizer will make a video call.

In this exam, the participant should answer three (12 line) questions raised by the jury members (one question from the first ten Parts (Juz’), one from the second ten Parts (Juz’), and one from the third ten parts (Juz) inTarteelformat.

(3) Tarteel Recitation:

The participants should choose one of the parts below and send their recitation with the full observance of the Tajweed, Waqf, Ibtida, Lahn, etc. according to the Judgment by-law of the I.R. Iran competition jury in a video file (maximum size: 20 Mb) through the designated contact information of the organizer.

Part 1	from Al-'Asrā’, Verse: 59 (wa mā mana'nā)	to end of verse 66 (rahīman)
Part 2	from Al-Kahf, Verse: 46	to end of verse 53 (masrafan)

 

Note: If a participant in the preliminary stage does not have the technical conditions to participate in the competition, he/she will be removed from the competition.
