It should be noted that the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) is an outstanding event that holds the title of the oldest and largest film festival dedicated to documentary, short story and animation films in South Asia. Established in 1990, MIFF showcases the best of Indian and international filmmakers. The festival is organized by the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The 18th festival was held in Mumbai from June 15 to 21, 2024, with film screenings, educational workshops, open discussion forums, and documentary film markets, and films were screened simultaneously in Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. With 1018 films from 38 countries around the world, this festival took the record of sending films. In addition to screening Iranian documentary films, the House of Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai actively participated in this festival by holding a masterclass by renowned Iranian animation director Mohammad Khairandish and holding an exhibition of handicrafts and tourism.
