On Monday, September 29, 2025, a group of students studying Persian language and literature from Ismail Yusuf College in Mumbai, along with their advisor, Mr. Ashfaq Mortazavi, visited the Cultural House of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai. This visit coincided with the celebration of Shams Tabrizi and Jalal al-Din Muhammad Rumi. The event was organized at the request of the college's Persian language and literature department, with the goal of enhancing students' understanding of Persian culture and language. Upon arrival, the students were greeted by Mr. Mohseni-Fard, the acting consul general of the Iranian Consulate in Mumbai, and Mr. Mohammad Reza Fazel, the cultural attaché of the Iran Cultural House in Mumbai. Both speakers emphasized the importance of the Persian language in the Indian subcontinent.

He also informed the students about potential scholarship options for those pursuing Persian studies at universities in Iran and introduced the international SAMFA exam (Assessment of Persian Language Learners).
To conclude the visit, the students were presented with cultural gifts, including books for learning Persian, postcards showcasing Iranian traditions, and mouse pads featuring Persian carpet designs, followed by a lunch reception.
