In the spirit of celebrating Nowruz, the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Zimbabwe held a Three-day exhibition to mark the first day of the Iranian new year at the University of Zimbabwe, from the 20th to the 22nd of March 2022.
The exhibition, whose theme centered on the historical significance of Nowruz, was hosted by the University of Zimbabwe and held in the main library foyer, a convenient exhibition venue offering an eye bird’s view to the discerning art and crafts lover.
The exhibition, curated by the Cultural center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was so eye catching and expertly done that it was a marvel to watch for all the people who viewed the exhibition.
The pictorial and handcraft exhibition, was a complete showcase of the rich and diverse Iranian culture, as it told and reflected on Iran’s rich legacy as a towering country in science technology and the dazzling art forms expertly done by the Iranian art masters.
The exhibition told the complete story of the achievements and successes of the Islamic Republic of Iran in making the country self-sufficient in industrial and scientific needs after the successful Islamic Revolution, among others.
For the people who visited the exhibition, they were mostly puzzled by the beauty of the exhibits, as they spend more time trying to master what really made the Islamic Republic of an industrial and scientific global giant, despite the country being under the evil sanctions imposed by the Western countries.
The university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Paul Mapfumo, an avid admirer of Iranian art, upon visiting the exhibition, said Iranian exhibitions at the university are always the best. He thanked the Embassy of Iran for bringing the exhibition to his university, saying the gesture was good for cultural exchange programmes between Iran and Zimbabwe.
On his part, Mr Hamid Bakhtiyar the cultural Counsellor of the embassy of iran thanked the Vice Chancellor for gracing the exhibition and hosting the exhibition.
