The Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Zimbabwe has collaborated with the Embassy of the State of Palestine and the Zimbabwe Palestine Solidarity Council in organizing a photographic exhibition meant to highlight the genocide that is being perpetrated on the freedom-seeking people of Palestine by the warmongering and rogue state of Israel.

The photographic exhibition, which has brought to the fore the suffering and anguish the people of Palestine are going through at the hands of the bloody Israeli army, was held at a local cinema house in Harare on 29 October 2024.

The photographs are painful to view. They paint an unpalatable situation. They break one’s heart. They make people cry. The photographs bring one to the Gaza Strip, where children are dying every day. The exhibition tells the story of the tens of thousands of children, men, and women who have been killed in cold blood by the thugs of Benjamin Netanyahu.

It’s a story of children killed by the bombs that fly on hospitals, clinics, sanctuaries, and homes. They tell a story of a parent watching his/her beloved daughter/son die without any medication or access to a medical facility, all because Israel has destroyed the hospitals and seized the medicines meant for the injured. It’s a sad story that is much harder to accept as reality, but that is the reality of what is happening in Palestine.

Its an exhibition that tells of Israel’s intention to wipe all Palestinians from their motherland. The pictures tell a story of a massive disregard for the sanctity of human life and the abundant disregard for human rights by the blood-sucking killers of Israel. The exhibition tells a story of the West’s double standards towards Palestine, and how their weapons have been used in the Palestinian genocide.

The Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Dr Tamara Almasri, and the Islamic Republic of Iran to Zimbabwe, Mr Abbas Navazani, Mr Hamid Bakhtiyar, the Cultural Counsellor at the embassy of Iran, together with other diplomats from the embassy of Palestine, were there to share their anguish over the events happening in Palestine.

Ambassador Almasri said the international community should stop Israel from its continuing genocide of Palestine, and its leaders should be arrested for masterminding the genocide.

The ambassador said about 97 percent of medical facilities in Palestine have been destroyed, while Israel confiscates the medicine meant for the injured. He noted that children form the majority of all the people who have been killed in the conflict.

He added that Israel wants to start a regional war that will affect the entire world in one way or another.

The Palestinian ambassador further thanked the government of Zimbabwe for its support towards the Palestinian struggle.

Mr. Abbas Navazani, Iran’s ambassador, said Iran will continue to offer all the necessary support to Palestinian and Lebanese resistance forces.

He said Israel wants to wipe out Palestine as it continues to drop bombs on Muslims.

The ambassador noted that Israel’s aggression on Iran is to merely test Iran’s military capabilities, as the last round of aggression on Iran was not successful as it only affected a few points.

Mr. Navazani said the Western countries, in showing their double standards, are supporting the genocide and abetting the human rights abuses in Palestine.

Sheikh Henry Balakazi, the secretary general of the Supreme Muslim Council of Zimbabwe said the Palestinians are fighting for their freedom, dignity,, and the God-given right to live in their motherland. He said the exhibition was held to expose the atrocities that are being committed against the freedom-seeking Palestinian people.

Mr. Robsom Musarafu from the Friends of Palestine thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its continuous support to the Palestinian and Lebanese people in their fight against the apartheid regime of Israel.

Officials from the Zimbabwe Palestine Solidarity Council, Muslims from around Harare, and other friends of Palestine attended the exhibition.
