CULTURAL COUNSELLOR MEETS WOMEN WRITERS ASSOCIATION TOP OFFICIAL
The Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has today cemented the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of Iran with the Zimbabwe Women Writers support Network Africa though making a broad commitment to work closely with the Women Writers body.

In a very cordial meeting that was held at the Cultural Centre offices in Harare today (12 December 2023), the Cultural Counsellor, Mr Hamid Bakhtiyar and Mr Thabani Mlilo, the project coordinator for the Zimbabwe Women Writers Support Network, a commitment was made to initiate joint book publications on poetry as well as to host joint programmes on culturally related issues. Mr Bakhtiyar and Mr Mlilo also agreed to participate in each other’s festivals and other related events that are there to stimulate and grow relations between Iranian and Women writers association.
Women Writers Network Support is a group of women from all walks of life and from different countries in Africa. Members of Women Writers Network are drawn from different sectors that include politics, media and marketing among others and their goal is to support, help, share and comfort each other.
ln Zimbabwe, WWSN currently has more than 400 members. Although it was born to assist women, the organization has an open-door policy to members of the opposite gender. Apart from the locals, the organization has managed to draw membership from Rwanda, Kenya, Cameroon, South Africa, Nigeria, and Namibia.
