The Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Zimbabwe has today, the 27^th June 2023, presented monetary prizes to the winners of an essay competition that was being held to commemorate the 34^th anniversary demise of the Founder and Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Ruholla Khomeini.

The competition attracted a large number of well researched and written essays from all age groups and regions in Zimbabwe, although the bulk of the writers were from Harare, the Capital city of Zimbabwe.

Presenting prizes to some of the top Six competition winners at the Embassy of Iran Cultural Offices in Harare, the Cultural Counsellor, Mr Hamid Bakhtiyar said he was very much impressed by the quality of essays submitted by the competitors. He urged the writers to take a deep interest in Iranian affairs so as to enable them to write authoritatively on any given Iranian subject.

He further said that the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of Iran is working extensively towards the growth of cultural relations between Zimbabwe and Iran, and that Zimbabwean people should be educated and entertained by the various cultural products found at the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of Iran in Harare.

Most competitors expressed a deep appreciation of current and past Iranian matters, a development indicating that the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of Iran is doing a splendid job in taking the Iranian cultural heritage to the people of Zimbabwe.
