Iranian Red Crescent Marks International Volunteer Day, 2023
The Iranian Red Crescent Society observed the International Volunteer Day, where the president of the IRCS highlighted the obstacles that hinder the delivery of medical supplies and food to people living in Gaza.
In the ceremony, Pirhossein Kolivand, the president of the IRCS, said: “An unprecedented amount of tens of thousands of tons of food, medicine and relief items from public contribution have been collected following the Gaza war,”
He mentioned his discussions with the International Committee of the Red Cross, stating that the ICRC must stop the Zionist regime from harming children.
According to Mr Kolivand, the ICRC ought to overcome current limitations and facilitate the delivery of medical and food assistance to the oppressed individuals in Palestine.
A significant number of the Iranian Red Crescent’s volunteers, personnel, and managers gathered for the event.
Furthermore, several volunteers and benefactors were honored in this ceremony.
The Iranian Red Crescent has over 2.7 million volunteers who participate in the Society’s humanitarian efforts.
