In Zimbabwe, various organizations are dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights, aligning with international standards and principles. Their efforts underscore the importance of dignity, respect, and justice for all individuals. This commitment reflects a broader global endeavour to uphold human rights and the rule of law. International cooperation and diplomacy play a crucial role in advancing these objectives. In this effort, organizations such as the Alhlulbayt Islamic Guidance Council in of Zimbabwe, the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in Zimbabwe, Social Democrats Association, Fatima Zahra Women’s Organization and the Zimbabwe Palestine Solidarity Council shared their utmost concern and condemned the aggression committed as believe in core values on promotion of human rights as a shared responsibility that requires justice and peace.
The recent violations of Iranian sovereignty, through violent acts of Israeli regime to the Islamic Republic of Iran Regimes was against the core values and principles of the Universal Human Rights Charter and have brought attention to the importance of adhering to international human rights law. The Iranian Embassy in Harare has regarding actions that may contravene these principles. The Chargé de ’Affaires at the Iranian Embassy in Harare, Mr Ali Tousi, expressed concerns and condemned Israel’s actions in the strongest terms.
“These acts of aggression are not only a gross violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as an independent state and member of the United Nations, but also constitute a breach of international human rights and humanitarian law, including the four Geneva Conventions,” he said.
“Most importantly, these attacks violate the United Nations Charter, which expressly prohibits the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state. Iran has exercised its inherent right to self-defence, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter. We did not initiate this conflict and have no desire for war.”
The joint aggression by the US and Israeli regimes echoes the same imperial impulse that ancient Persia faced in various forms — an attempt to subdue a nation that refuses to conform to externally imposed doctrines. But Iran’s response remains consistent with its heritage: resilience grounded in dignity.
Iran’s right to self-defence, as recognised under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, is not merely a legal technicality. It is a moral imperative rooted in the defence of its people, territory and future.
Such provocations have further exposed the selective morality of international politics, where certain actors defy global norms with impunity, while others are expected to comply under duress. In the face of these double standards, Iran’s historical wisdom calls not for capitulation but for principled resistance globally
