PRESIDENT RAISI TOURS ZIMBABWE’S TOP SHRINE
The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr Ebrahim Raisi toured the National Heroes Acre in Harare
The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr Ebrahim Raisi yesterday toured the National Heroes Acre in Harare, where he laid a wreath on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. After laying the wreath, President Raisi had a brief tour of some of the graves containing the remains of some of Zimbabwe’s top liberation war fighters.
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a monument that represents all fallen fighters who died during the war and were buries in various parts of Zimbabwe and in other foreign countries where the fighters operated from.
The visit to the National Heroes Acre, where distinguished heroes of Zimbabwe’s liberation war for independence are interred, came after Zimbabwe and Iran had signed 12 Agreements ranging from information communication and technology and pharmaceuticals to Agriculture and Technology transfer, among others.
From the National Heroes Acre President Raisi and his entourage headed straight to Harare International Airport where his host, President Emmerson Mnangagwa bade him farewell.
