Turkmen music
Tribes of the Turkmen (Oghuz) who converted to Islam a thousand and some years ago while living on the banks of the Seyhun by the Samanid rulers, later settled in areas that are now called the Turkmen Sahara. This region in Iran includes parts of Golestan province and a region of northwestern Khorasan. The musicians (khanyagars) were the ancestors of the Turkmen tribes of Ozan. The Ozans, whose work was deeply rooted in shamanism, sang in praise of the heroes of the epic tribe and were especially respected among the people. They can be considered the creator and founder of all the fundamental works of music of all Turkic speakers. Today, the descendants of the Uzans in the Turkmen Sahara are called Baghshi or Bakhshi. The most important part of Turkmen music is the collection of works that are sung and played by the Bakhshis. They are dotar * (tamdireh) musicians, singers and storytellers. Another instrument that accompanies a Bakhshi is the fiddle * (qijaq). Shepherd and caravaneer songs accompanied by flute *, songs played with flute * to relieve or cure childhood measles, Natal singing, "Lala", which is sung by girls and young brides, is called by theological students in the seminaries, lullabies, wailing, etc. are other examples of Iranian Turkmen music. Dance has no place in Iranian Turkmen culture and there is no sign of percussion instruments, especially the bendir family * and instruments of the bugle group * in Iranian Turkmen music. Turkmen music, which has more than 500 songs, is based on the four main styles of fivesome, Tashnid, Gharq Lar, and Navai. These four styles are performed in four different ways of Gorgan Yuli, Lamanayoli, Mariiyoli and Khiva Yuli, each of which belongs to a specific region or race. Common instruments in the Turkmen Sahara of Iran include dotar * (tamdireh), kamancheh * (qijaq) and four types of flutes *. Qupuz * (Qawuz) which is also the falconet* , is also played by Turkmen women and girls.
